Hannenorak Library

Description

Located in the heart of the Wendake community, this bookstore opened in 2009.

Writing in all its forms, from the transmission of knowledge to novels, is in the spotlight in this bookstore. More specifically, it is Aboriginal writers who have a place of choice. It has the largest selection of First Nations literature in Quebec offered by the Hannenorak Bookstore.
Accredited independent institution and the only bookstore located in an Indigenous community in Quebec, Librairie Hannenorak is proud to become, since 2019, a general bookstore of choice for residents of the northern crown of Quebec and for tourists in search of the imperishable memory offered by reading.

Although the Hannenorak Bookstore became a general bookstore in 2019, it does not lose sight of its desire to promote First Nations culture through literature, to improve understanding of Indigenous issues among non-Indigenous people and First Nations members, and to help Indigenous authors carve out a place for themselves in the Quebec literary community.
